2 Timothy 4:6-8 [ESV] For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
2 Timothy 4:6-8 [Message] You take over. I’m about to die, my life an offering on God’s altar. 7 This is the only race worth running. I’ve run hard right to the finish, believed all the way. 8 All that’s left now is the shouting—God’s applause! Depend on it, he’s an honest judge. He’ll do right not only by me, but by everyone eager for his coming.
There is a obscure little phrase that gets me all excited; “that Day”.
How I wish it where sooner rather than later. “that Day”
Now because I’m living in anticipation of my “award” quite frankly I’m with Dave Ramsey who every time he is asked, “How you doing?” He replies, “Better than I deserve”
That’s my feeling about being in heaven, “it’s more than I deserve” “that Day”
Live for “that day”
Yearn for “that day”
Pray for “that day”
not just for me, but for “everyone eager for Jesus’ return,
let “that day” be “this day” and if not “this day” then let “that day” be tomorrow.
Until “that day” enable me to fight the good fight, and finish well, keeping the faith.
