Psalm 139:13-18 [ESV] For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.
Psalm 139:13-18 [Message] Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. 14 I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! 15 You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. 16 Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day. 17 Your thoughts—how rare, how beautiful! God, I’ll never comprehend them! 18 I couldn’t even begin to count them— any more than I could count the sand of the sea. Oh, let me rise in the morning and live always with you!
This is a pretty cool passage and it can give you that warm fuzzy, [which works better in the winter] and while reading it I thought to myself what is most important about the passage to me. So I challenged myself to bring out three things that it said and prioritize them into levels of importance.
1] How precious to me are your thoughts – you made me and I want to know you more!
2] The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day – you gave me purpose!
3] I awake, and I am still with you – this is how life is meant to be lived.
Praise Him: Creator, Savior, and Lord
