Isaiah 66:2 [ESV] All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.
Isaiah 66:2 [Message] I made all this! I own all this!” God’s Decree.
“But there is something I’m looking for: a person simple and plain, reverently responsive to what I say.
Isaiah 66:2 [NLT] My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the Lord, have spoken! “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.”
This verse in Isaiah has left me pondering; “reverently responsive”!
Matt. 17: 20 [NLT] “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, `Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
John 14:21 Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
Is “mustard seed faith”, “saving faith”?
Not if I obey to get to heaven, only if I obey because I’m going to heaven!
Humbly help me tremble at your Word!
Make me reverently responsive!
