ABIDING – Ever notice – You don’t do it alone!

Abiding
REFERENCE

Jude 20,21 [ESV] But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.

Jude 20, 21 [Message] 20 But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!

Jude 20, 21 [NLT]   20 But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, 21 and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

Jude 20, 21 [GWT] Dear friends, use your most holy faith to grow. Pray with the Holy Spirit’s help. 21 Remain in God’s love as you look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you eternal life.

EXPLORATION

Key observation:
1] “dear friends” – telling us we don’t do this walk alone.
Who is walking with you? Who are you being honest with? Who are you helping? Who are you praying for? Who are you calling “dear friend”?

2] “pray” – you don’t get to – “a most holy faith” – without prayer, without the Holy Spirit!
Who you praying with?

3] “remain in God’s love” – receive His mercy!
How do you stay in the center of that?

APPLICATION

Believe in Jesus more today than you did yesterday and more tomorrow than you did today.

PRAYER

Father,
Belief isn’t simply believing there is a Jesus
Believing is abiding in a Jesus
Holy Spirit,
Take me there!
