MOUNTAINS MOVE!

REFERENCE
Isaiah 54:10 [ESV] For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10 [Message] For even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces, My love won’t walk away from you, my covenant commitment of peace won’t fall apart.” The God who has compassion on you says so.

EXPLORATION

Seen any mountains disappear, or hills move lately? Probably more often than you realize!
How about you just found out your spouse has cancer? That’s a mountain falling, and right on top of you! How about you just found out you have cancer? That’s a hill falling to pieces, because for some unknown reason we deal with our problems better than we deal with the problems of a loved one.
Mountains and hills? More than we want to think about.
Divorce, lost job, broken down car, wayward child, stupid feud, alcohol, drugs, misunderstanding…
And in the midst of it all… “My love won’t walk away from You” – God is there! Bringing peace if you’ll let him.

APPLICATION
So how do we experience God’s love and His peace in the midst of tragedy?
TRUST, we trust Him to accomplish His will, His good and perfect will in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones.

PRAYER
Compassionate Father,
In all things, good and bad – this day – draw me closer to you!
Teach me to trust, and then to trust more!
Let the mountains fall where they may, let the hills sway and sway and sway.
Your love sustains!
Your love remains!
Your love
