Isaiah 64:8 [ESV] But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Isaiah 64:8 [Message] Still, God, you are our Father. We’re the clay and you’re our potter: All of us are what you made us.
Isaiah 64:8 [NLT] And yet, O Lord , you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.
This is one of those been there, done that; verses. We immediately get a picture in our mind of a potter’s wheel and strong masculine hands forming a piece of clay into a pot, or vase or a jar. But we miss something if we don’t take some time to dwell on; “O Lord, you are our Father.”
Look to Him.
Trust in Him.
Call to Him, by name; Abba, Father.
