Isaiah 61:2-3 [ESV] to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; 3 to grant to those who mourn in Zion– to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
Isaiah 61:2-3 [Message] 2 God sent me to announce the year of his grace— a celebration of God’s destruction of our enemies— and to comfort all who mourn, 3 To care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion, give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes, Messages of joy instead of news of doom, a praising heart instead of a languid spirit. Rename them “Oaks of Righteousness” planted by God to display his glory.
The verses start with, the year of His grace and end with planted to display His glory.
In between lies our lives. Poor but provided for. Comfort rather than mourning. Praises rather than a faint heart.
When I feel less than, turn to the Father
When I feel sorrow, turn to the Son
When I feel low in spirit, turn to the Holy Spirit
If You, God are for me, who can be against me.
Encourage me to encourage others.
