the repetition of the phrase, “he said” is rather convicting, it begs the question, “who’s listening?”. v. 9 “He who has ears to hear, let him hear” – this word, this advise, this instruction, – it’s open to all. v. 20 …the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit… those are the ones that really heard. Hearing sure puts a lot of four letter words in your day.
In Jesus name and by the power of the Holy Spirit, teach me not just to see, but to notice. Not just to listen but to hear. Then work in me and through me to help, and hold, and hope and in doing all those things, to be holy.
