Today’s Reading: 2 Samuel 2 / 1 Chronicles 11/ John 2
John 2:1 [ESV] On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
The phrase, “on the third day” caught my ears, and caught my heart.
I’m mindful that “on the third day” Jesus rose again.
The wedding is a foretaste of a later greater celebration.
A celebration of believer, and Savior.
A celebration of bride, [church] ;and groom [Jesus].
The second chapter of John speaks “three” times about believers.
There seems to be degrees to belief.
verse 11 This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.
verse 22 they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
verse 23 many believed in his name, because of what they saw, but didn’t believe in their hearts.
True believers believe the Scripture and the words of Jesus.
True belief is putting action to God’s Word.
I believe, help me in my unbelief.
In the name of Jesus, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, teach me to obey the Scriptures and in doing so to show my beliefs.
