WHO? Who has God placed in your life?

TODAY’S READING: Nehemiah 12

REFERENCE

Nehemiah 12:22 In the days of …

EXPLORATION

Through out much of our Old Testament reading we run across names, lots and lots of names. Names we can’t pronounce, ever wonder why the names are being announced?
They remind us that we are meant to live in community, in relationships. Each name has a task, a talent and a treasure. Each name has a story. Each name is significant. Each name serves.

APPLICATION

Follow my lead…
In the days of Joseph, he shared live with 652 facebook friends, 171 twitter friends – some that follow him and some he followed. He played “words w/ friends” with 20+ people. Enjoyed his small family of 7; wife Gail, Brandon and Whitney, Josh, Katrina, and OMG – Kenna!  He fellowships with a church of 400+, serves 175+ seniors, enjoys Bible study with a dozen men, and prayer with a few faithful. His talent is mercy, his task is kindness, his treasure is relationships.
At the end of any given day he needs a kiss from Gail and a giggle from Kenna.
He has no sense of needing God!
Because God he HAS… in the lives of the people that God has placed in his life.
In the days of Joseph, he heard music, he made music, and he praised God.

PRAYER

Father,
I’m the first to confess, I don’t always get the long list of names in the Bible.
But this day You, yes You helped me remember the long list of people that you’ve placed in my life.
This day, allow me to celebrate them.
This day, be glorified!
