Acts 2:21[ESV] And it shall come to past, that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Ever hear one word and think another, it happens to all of us and I think it happens a lot with this Bible verse. People read “saved” but they hear “safe”. CS Lewis in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe wrote:
‘If there’s anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they’re either braver than me or else just silly.
”Then he isn’t safe?’ asked Lucy.
‘Safe?’ said Mr. Beaver. ‘Don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.’
Naming Jesus – Lord, doesn’t make our lives safe, that’s wishful thinking.
Naming Jesus – Lord, does make our live good.
Only you know what today brings.
Joy and pleasure, grief and sorrow or something in between.
The only things I know is that Your good, and that you save.
Thanks for being You.
Help me to be me.
