PROMISED FAITH

2013 READ the BIBLE in a YEAR Today’s Readings: 2 Samuel 21 / Psalms 138-140

promised faith

I imagine that there are any number of verses in the Bible that give the Devil pause. That make him squirm. There has got to be lots of verses that he hopes we kind of skip over. Verses that he knows, if we claim them, he’s defeated. This verse came to mind while I was reading the Psalms today. Psalms 139:17 [NLT] “How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!”

I sin and start feeling so unworthy, Jesus reminds me, “I died for those sins, your forgiven.” The Holy Spirit reminds me that I am a child of God, and God only has precious thoughts about His children and lots of them.

I’m a dad, and I have lots of precious thoughts about my children, my grandchildren… those thoughts, way out number anything they’ve ever done wrong.  Abba, is much more of a dad then I’ll ever be.

Sometimes when we are beating ourselves up we just need to live out our PROMISED FAITH.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Psalms 139:17 [NLT] “How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!”

Circle the promises, live out a PROMISED FAITH!
