2013 READ the BIBLE in a YEAR / Today’s Reading 2 Kings 24 / Psalm 149
Psalm 149 begins, “Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song,…” On this day between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday – I’ve a new song in my heart. Overwhelmed by God’s love for me. “Praise ye the the Lord!” comes off a little hollow. May I praise him this day and every day until he comes again, not just with words, but with the tears of Mary on Easter morning [joy], the energy of Peter and John who ran to the tomb [hope], they giddiness of the angels sitting in an empty tomb [peace] and compassion of Jesus [love], who simply called Mary’s name. “Mary” – who would Jesus have me comfort today? This is how I will praise Him.
1 Corinthians 13:13 [NLT] Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
