CHILD LIKE FAITH

2013 READ the BIBLE in a YEAR / Today’s Readings: Genesis 35-37 / Matthew 19

Childlike faith

I find it fascinating that in chapter 18 and then again in chapter 19 – back to back – there are two stories, two illustrations involving children.

Now in Matthew 19 we read this account: 13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. 14 But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” 15 And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.

The invitation seems to be an open invitation.

How Child like is my faith?

Oh Jesus, place your hands on my head and bless me!
