’13 READ the BIBLE in a YEAR / Today’s Readings: Isaiah 8, Proverbs 27-29
Today’s been one of those days, guessing you’ve had them to. One of those days when I just want to be faithful and read God’s Word BUT my mind is a thousand different places and wanders more than it wonders. I finished reading Isaiah 8 and the three chapters in Proverbs and was left with – WHAT? What did I just read, so I read Isaiah 8 again and I started to read the Proverbs again and when I got to Proverbs 27:6 [NLT] – Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. I’m not a confrontational kind of guy, I’m a harmonizer through and through. So very often [like almost always] when I get hurt by someone, and it just happens, right. It’s part of life. When I get hurt, I don’t get even; I tend to get lost. I avoid the person. It’s like – Hurt me once – your bad. Hurt me twice, my bad.
It’s time to grow up. Time to give GRACE – especially to “sincere friends”
